Ros Whiting
Senior Lecturer
Originally working in the areas of chemistry and environmental
research and policy, Ros moved into accountancy lecturing 14 years
ago. Her main areas of teaching are in papers ACCT 222 and ACCT
310, and she is currently the convenor of ACCT 222.
Ros's main research areas are gender issues in the accountancy
profession, accounting for, and reporting on, intellectual capital
and intangibles (brands and human resources), and teaching and learning
styles of accounting undergraduates. She has published papers in
British Accounting Review, Pacific Accounting Review, Accounting
Education: An International Journal, Chartered Accountants Journal
of New Zealand, Bankers Institute of New Zealand Occasional Papers
and Australian CPA.
She has recently submitted her PhD for examination which is concerned
with career progression in the accountancy profession. She is also
interested in ethical issues and facilitates on PCE I Ethics workshops
for ICANZ.
