Garry Heaton
Senior Lecturer
Garry has a particular interest in teaching accounting to non-accountants.
He teaches the large ACCT 101 core paper which is comprised largely
of non-accounting majors, as well as the MBA accounting papers and
also contributes on a regular basis to the short course programme
offered by the executive education unit. Garry also teaches corporate
governance as part of the ACCT 304 (Legal Topics in Accounting)
paper.
His current research interest is in corporate governance. His principal
current research project is investigating how the Charities Act
2005 will impact on governance and accountability by charities in
New Zealand.
