Nicola Holman
Lecturer
Nicola is a Professional Practice Fellow with primary responsibility
for convening Accounting 102. She is also assisting with the teaching
of Accounting 303 - public sector accounting.
Nicola has been a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants
since 1991 and has extensive public sector and local government
experience. In recent years she has been an Audit Manager with Audit
NZ, Financial Planner at Dunedin City Council, and is involved in
consultancy on an ongoing basis. During the 1990s she also established
and grew a successful accounting practice made up of small and medium
sized businesses.
Nicola has a special interest in sustainability and been a member
of the Institute’s Sustainability Special Interest Group since
2003, serving for a time on its committee. She is also a member
of the Dunedin Sustainability Forum and the Sustainable Business
Network.
With her husband, Nicola has established a Native Plant nursery
and is active in the local community promoting and supporting environmental
projects. She is an enthusiastic mountainbiker, runner and avid
explorer of Otago’s natural landscapes.
