Minor in Accounting
Students not majoring in Accounting may wish to study some Accounting
papers and can have these appear on their academic record as a minor
in Accounting. The requirements are 90 points and include BSNS 101
and ACCT 102, two 200-level ACCT papers and one 300-level ACCT paper.
Students majoring in Accounting may wish to include another subject
(e.g. Economics) and have that appear on their academic record as
a minor subject. For further information on minors, please consult
the University Calendar. Please note: a minor does not necessarily
have to be in another Commerce subject.
Minor in Business Law
Students can strengthen their degree in a practical way and gain
a corresponding endorsement on their academic record by completing
a minor in Business Law. This requires 90 points chosen from ACTB
101, LAWS 101, ACTB 201, ACTB 202, ACTB 203, ACTB 301 and ACCT 304.
Fifty-four points must be above 100 level, including 18 points at
300-level.
See the University Calendar, Guide to Enrolment or www.otago.ac.nz
for full details and regulations on minor subjects.
