In the Performance-Based Research
Fund (PBRF) evaluation carried out by the Tertiary Education
Commission for 2001-2006, the University of Otago has been
ranked first overall and first in economics.
According to TEC, the overall
quality of Otago's economics research is higher than that
of any other NZ university.
Further, Otago has the largest
number of economists with an A rating.
And the largest percentage
of economists with an A rating.
