Arlene's research interests are mainly in the areas of East Asian
economic development and empirical modelling of total factor productivity
using cross-sectional, time-series and multi-country panel data.
Her teaching includes Asian economic development, labour economics
(particularly on inequality and discrimination issues), natural
resource economics (particularly on population and water resource
issues) and introductory macroeconomics, microeconomics.
