Alvin Etang Ndip

BSc (Buea, Cameroon), MA (Bergamo, Italy)

Alvin joined the PhD programme after having completed a Masters degree in Microfinance at the State University of Bergamo in Italy, following a BSc degree in Banking and Finance at the University of Buea in Cameroon. Alvin’s thesis focuses on Social Capital and Microfinance. He is constructing measures of social capital (proxied by trust and trustworthiness) using an economic experiment and surveys in rural Cameroon. Alvin is also exploring how trust relates to membership of rotating savings and credit associations (ROSCAs). The thesis will also study how microfinance operates in Cameroon.
